“Streich auf Streich” – 150 years “Max und Moritz”

German-speaking comics from Wilhelm Busch until today – exhibition in Hanover
In 1864, 150 years ago, the most famous picture story of Wilhelm Buch was created: “Max und Moritz”. In a unique triumphal procession the two boys conquered the world – and made Wilhelm Busch to one of the co-founder of modern comic. The original manuscript counts to the most precious treasure of the “Deutsches Museum für Karikatur und Zeichenkunst (Wilhelm Busch-Museum)”, the motto of the year is: “Streich auf Streich” – 150 years “Max und Moritz”.
The kick-off of the anniversary year makes the exhibition “German-speaking comics from Wilhelm Busch until today”, which runs from 16 February until 4 May 2014. On the occasion of the 16th Erlangen International Comic Salon the exhibition is to see from 1 June until 31 August 2014 at Erlangen’s municipal museum (Stadtmuseum Erlangen).
