Outburst and Memory Gap
The 28th and 29th International Comic Artist Seminar 2013 and 2014 19 – 22 June 2014 Opening Hours: Thu, noon–7pm; Fri/Sat, 10am–7pm; Sun, 10am–6pm Rathaus, Foyer, 1. Stock
For the 29th time since 1986, the Erlangen International Comic Salon is holding the international comic artist seminar, which is unique in Germany. The seminar, for which about 20 participants are selected, is organized by the Contours agency in cooperation with the City of Erlangen and is hosted by Paul Derouet and internationally renowned comic artists. During this year’s Salon, the works of the past two seminars are presented to the public. Topics of the 2013 and the 2014 seminars were/are respectively “Der Ausbruch” (“The outburst”) under the guidance of Barbara Yelin and Reinhard Kleist, and “Die Erinnerungslücke” (“The Memory Gap”) under the guidance of Barbara Yelin, Lukas Jüliger, and Mawil. This year, there are two guests: Karo Akpokiere from Nigeria – in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Nigeria in Lagos – and Julien Yger from Rennes, France – on occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Erlangen sister-city arrangement with Rennes.
