In February 1984, the first issue of the comic fanzine “Reddition” was published. The dummy was pieced together by three students and comic fans, and counted only five pages. Despite its modest beginnings, it has developed into an important and continuously published magazine, which tackles various aspects of the international comic landscape in a serious and comprehensive fashion. The origin story and the many stories behind it, as well as the evolution from the fanzine’s beginnings to the production of a professional journal are all object of the exhibition at the 16th International Comic Salon. Additionally, the anniversary issue no. 60 titled “30 Years of Reddition: 30 Years of German Comic Scene” will be published in June, and deals with some outstanding moments between 1984 and 2013 – not least with the Comic Salon itself, which also celebrates its 30-year existence this year.
